Teaching | Web Standards Documentary Project | Sara Cheng
Sara Cheng: My name is Sara Cheng. I have an Associates degree. I am at The Art Institute of Atlanta. I worked with a group who were from Moxie Interactive and the Savannah College of Design, building a web site for the Atlanta Art Club. They had a project to re-design their web site, and I'm the web developer.
Basically when we first started the project, the designer didn't really care whether I built out the project with Web Standards or not. They just wanted to have a site with the design. The code that they suggested was just like the old-school, HTML, tables, basic code kind of thing.
When I suggested the way that we could build it based on Web Standards, I guess they were educated. They didn't know about it. Once I told them, they said, "Oh, there's a way like that. OK, you are the developer; do what you think is best for the site." And so I built that out
.Aarron Walter: So who sees this site?
Sara: The Atlanta Art Club site would probably be seen by the marketing agencies, the advertising agencies, in Atlanta. Mostly in other states, too, because people looking for marketing agency, advertising, look into this site, because that's an advertising agency network kind of thing. Also students look at the site, too.
