Jamie Nelson: Hi, my name is Jamie Nelson; I am a junior at The Art Institute of Atlanta studying Interactive Media Design. I am an intern at Morehouse College.
Moving into that industry, I realized that they were still using tables, and no one in the company has ever learned how to use divs or CSS, so I had to bring what I learned in school, Web Standards, into the company.
My boss realized that using bleeds instead of tables is more successful because you can arrange and move and position things without breaking tables or anything like that.
As she saw my work progressing, she wanted to learn how to use Web Standards and ways to use it, so I've done a class with the Tech department. I showed them basically a small introduction to the Web Standards. They were really amazed, like “Wow! I can't believe I can do this.”
