Stephen Grote Photography
Stephen Grote is a photojournalist and faculty member in the Photographic Imaging department at The Art Institute of Atlanta. The goals of this site were to present a portfolio of photographs, offer resources to other photographers, and create a robust course management system for all courses Stephen teaches. Of primary importance was to give Stephen the ability to manage all site content, create new class sites, and build pages without requiring any knowledge of HTML. The solution was to create a feature-rich content management system that gives Stephen total control over his web site without technical assistance.
I handled all planning, design and development in this project. A few feature highlights include:
- A design that prominently features Stephen's photography
- A links management sytem that ties directly to Stephen's browser so he can add content to his site just by bookmarking a page in his browser
- An RSS news aggregator with a CMS module to add new categories and feeds at will
- A portfolio management system that allows the creation of new photo groupings, nesting of portfolios, photo re-ordering, and authoring artist statements
- A course management system that facilitates the creation of new course web sites
The features of this site are too numerous to list, but the net result is an attractive, usable interface for visitors and Stephen.
