Hawthorne House
Hawthorne House, an interior design, art, and antiques gallery, hired me to design and build their web site to facilitate communication with their wholesale and retail customers, and create a look that merged the rich history of their antiques with the contemporary look of their upholstered furniture and finishings. The juxtaposition of classic and modern typefaces, a soft color palette with natural accents, and elegant photography work in concert to achieve an identity appropriate for Hawthorne House.
I had the pleasure of conceptualizing, planning, designing, and developing all aspects of this project, including standards compliant XHTML and CSS, sophisticated Ajax and DOM scripting utilities, search engine optimized pages, a content management system, and a database driven inventory system. Technology is used here to simplify the management of content for the owners, and encourage customer interactions.
